Elastics are small rubber bands that you will attach to your braces to supply an additional force
to correct your bite. Elastic wear usually represents the final phase of your
treatment, so the more that you wear them, the faster you get your braces off.Elastics are attached to small hooks that are placed on your arch wire or on your brackets. It is important that you attach them exactly as instructed by Dr. Yorek and staff. It is also important that you wear the particular size elastics that Dr. Yorek prescribes for your treatment.
Elastics are best worn full-time (24/7) this will bring about the fastest results. Wearing elastics only part-time results in sore teeth and extended treatment time – a frustrating situation for everyone.
